Description of Intervention or Resource

The Turning Resilience Into Brilliance for Eternity (TRIBE) Program is a prevention and early intervention program from Whole Systems Learning. TRIBE aims to prevent or intervene in the early onset of the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex post-traumatic stress disorder (C-PTSD) for foster and adjudicated African American male youth and young adults, ages 14-29. It is a community defined evidence practice (CDEP) that has been found to be effective in decreasing PTSD symptoms, decreasing trauma symptoms, decreasing depression, decreasing violence and recidivism. The CDEP does this by increasing resiliency through skills building, identity development, peer support and mentoring, opening the aperture to higher education, and widening the access to mental health services.

Population of Focus: Black and African American male youth and young adults
