The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA), Office of Behavioral Health Equity (OBHE) held the “Resiliencia y Prosperidad: Strengthening Our Workforce and Driving Recovery in Hispanic/Latino Communities” webinar on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm EDT.
Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, this webinar focused on the contributions and achievements of Hispanic and Latino Americans. Attendees explored the current state of the Hispanic behavioral health workforce and how community partners build on the existing assets within their communities.
During this webinar, participants learned:
- About the behavioral health workforce and the work in providing mental health and substance use prevention, treatment, and recovery support services for Hispanic/Latino populations.
- Heard from speakers that have effectively implemented culturally appropriate behavioral health interventions in Hispanic/ Latino populations.
- Gained knowledge about community partnerships and resources that were leveraged to develop programming for Hispanic/Latino populations.
