January 16, 2015

In response to the need for a more accessible, translated glossary of health insurance-related terms, Action for Health Justice (AHJ) created this glossary of health insurance enrollment terms in English and the following 12 Asian and Pacific Islander languages:

  • Burmese
  • Chinese (Traditional)
  • Chuukese
  • Hindi
  • Hmong
  • Khmer
  • Korean
  • Laotian
  • Marshallese
  • Tagalog

The Glossary contains approximately 100 of the most frequently used (and often confused) terms encountered by in-person assisters and navigators during the Affordable Care Act’s first round of open enrollment.

Population of focus: Asian and Pacific Islanders
