NNEDLearn 2013 Participant: Yakama Nation Behavioral Health
Description: The program creates awareness around the issues of bullying, suicide, and violence prevention through digital storytelling.
Yakama Nation was selected for a SAMHSA grant that funds the project after an analysis of national level data on youth violence, bullying, and suicide. Interviews with administrative stakeholders in the Portland Indian Health Service Regional Area were also conducted.

Background: Innovation was created by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) in 2005, in partnership with Kauffman and Associates, Inc. It was implemented on the Yakama Reservation in June, 2012, funded by a SAMHSA grant.
