Café Hope is a job training program for ACRS Behavioral Health clients. Participants typically have cognitive or emotional barriers to employment and varying levels of functionality. From a safe, supportive setting, clients learn about food safety, customer service, making beverages and basic business concepts. They then operate an espresso stand two to four days a week at the project site. Baristas do not earn paychecks, but do get incentives like gift cards to encourage participation. Café Hope’s mission is to teach skills that lead to wellness, recovery and self-sufficiency.
Population of focus: Asian American and Pacific Islander adults
