This report focuses on immigrant Latino parents’ usage of general health and mental health services for their adolescents. The adolescents of these Latino immigrant parents were between the ages of 12 and 19 and were enrolled in a high school or middle school in North Carolina between Fall 2005 and Spring 2006. The authors first provide an overview of individual characteristics for both Latino adolescents and their caregivers. They then describe immigrant parents’ usage of health services for their adolescents and the factors which promote or hinder their use of these services.
