In support of the White House’s Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Parity Task Force goals of identifying and promoting best practices in parity compliance and implementation, SAMHSA and federal government partners have developed a resource “Approaches in Implementing the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act: Best Practices from the States.”
This resource discusses best practices regarding the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008 (MHPAEA) in the areas of parity implementation processes, collaborations with other organizations, tools for understanding and monitoring compliance, and recommendations for other states.
